Naftogaz asks about eight billion dollars from the state budget

Money from the state budget are requested for successful completion of the heating periods 2018/2019 and 2019/2020.

The government confirmed the presence of a request from Naftogaz on the allocation of 230 billion hryvnia from the state budget for the year 2019. This is stated in the reply of the Cabinet at the request of Ukrainian News.

The money officially requested for successful completion of the heating periods 2018/2019 and 2019/2020, as well as proper execution of duties to ensure public interest during the natural gas market functioning.

“We ask the finalization of the draft State budget for 2019 to take into account the company’s proposals (attached), implementation of which will contribute to the sustainable during the heating periods 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 and proper execution of the company conferred upon it special duties to ensure public interest during the natural gas market functioning”, – said in the letter.

Naftogaz sent a letter to the Cabinet on 24 September – 10 days after the submission of the draft budget to the Verkhovna Rada.

Based on letters, for grants it is proposed to allocate 90 billion hryvnias, in compensation for the fulfillment of social obligations taking into account the debt – 24 billion hryvnia to compensation for company losses from gas sales at below market prices – 92,8 billion. Naftogaz also requested to provide state guarantees for the obligations of the company in the amount of $ 28 billion and compensation to cover the difference in tariffs of 1.84 billion.

Previously chief operating officer of Naftogaz Yuriy Vitrenko said that the company did not ask the Cabinet 230 billion, calling it “misinformation” information.

We will note, it became known yesterday that Naftogaz has filed a lawsuit against the government for damages in the amount of 6.6 billion hryvnia.
