The city Council has found a way to save

Prepared an appeal to the Parliament and the Cabinet.

The permanent Commission of the Kyiv city Council on issues of local self-government, regional and international relations agreed on the appeal to the Verkhovna Rada and the Cabinet of Ministers on the abolition of the rights of members of Parliament and local councils of deputies to free travel. This was reported on the official website of the city Council.

It is noted that currently, under current law, the estimate of the Verkhovna Rada earmarked each MP to compensate for the cost of travel on the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, members of the local Council have the right to free travel on rail, road and water transport, regardless of ownership, as well as on all kinds of city passenger transport (except taxi) on the territory of the respective Council.

“During the war in the East of Ukraine, the deputies of the Kyiv city Council considered inappropriate due to the state budget of Ukraine and the respective local budgets to ensure people’s deputies and deputies of local councils free of charge. Therefore, we propose to amend the current legislation of Ukraine, to abolish the right of people’s deputies and deputies of local councils to free travel”, – said the author of the draft decision, the Deputy of the Kyiv city Council Alla Shlapak.

The draft decision should be adopted at the plenary session of the city Council.

We will remind, in Kiev from July 15 increased travel on all public transport.
