Kiev is preparing a lawsuit in the international court of justice in connection with the act of aggression of the Russian Federation in the Azov sea, said Petro Poroshenko.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that Ukraine is preparing a lawsuit in the international court of justice in connection with the actions of Russia in the Kerch Strait. He declared it on air of ICTV TV channel.

“Preparing a lawsuit in the international court of justice in connection with an act of aggression. This file is already fixed. About responsibility of the Russian Federation for aggression against our country”, − said the head of state.

He also stressed that the Ukrainian sailors acted in full accordance with international law, and the Russian military has attacked Ukrainian ships in the neutral waters of the Black sea, opened fire.

The President recalled that the European court of human rights has demanded from Russia to provide information about the Ukrainian sailors.

“According to the information I have, Russia has violated the ECHR ruling and any information not provided,” − said Poroshenko.

We will remind, on November 25 near the Kerch bridge, the Russian special forces seized three Ukrainian ships. The attack was delayed 24 Ukrainian seafarers, six of whom were injured.

Moscow described the actions of Ukraine in the Kerch Strait “provocative”. Kyiv stressed that the Russian Federation carried out an act of aggression against Ukraine in international waters.
