Former mayor of Kiev suspected of abuse of power.

The court permitted the investigators of the Prosecutor General to detain the former mayor of Kiev Leonid Chernovetsky for consideration of the petition on application of preventive measure in the form of detention. This was reported by press Secretary of the Prosecutor General Larisa Sargan on the page in Facebook on Wednesday, July 26.

She recalled that the Office for the investigation of the crimes carries out pre-judicial investigation in criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal construction of the facility engineering and transport infrastructure, namely the helipad on Park road in Kiev.

Note, July 14, Chernovetsky is reported about suspicion in abuse of power or official position.

Former mayor avoids investigation and while his whereabouts are unknown.

Earlier, the Kyiv Prosecutor’s office raided and reported about suspicion to the former officials of the team Chernovetsky, who spent the alienation of 45 hectares of land in the reserve of the local value of the Island beetles.
