Ukrainian journalist for a year in a Moscow jail.
A court in Moscow extended the arrest of Ukrainian journalist Roman Sushchenko until September 30. This was reported by his lawyer mark Feigin on his page in Facebook on Tuesday, June 27.
“The Lefortovo district court extended the detention period of the Roman Sushchenko at the request of the investigation for another three months, until September 30. A Russian court is not a place to expect surprises,” – said Feigin.
The investigator of the FSB and the Prosecutor demanded a meeting behind closed doors because, according to them, the case is “secret materials”. Despite the objections of counsel, the judge granted the motion, and the trial was held without the presence of the press.
Recall Sushchenko was detained in Moscow on 30 September 2016 for alleged “espionage action”. The FSB claim that Sushchenko – Colonel of the Ukrainian intelligence in Ukraine deny it. He Sushchenko also not guilty.
