The deputies refused to raise minimum wage

The bill provided increase in 2016 minimum wage, minimum wage and minimum pension by 5%.

The Verkhovna Rada rejected a bill to raise the living wage, the abolition of the taxation of pensions and the refusal to limit payments to working pensioners.

For the adoption of the bill “On amendments to the Law of Ukraine “On State budget of Ukraine for 2016″ (on social benefits)” in the first reading vote of 163 deputies with the required minimum of 226 votes.

The bill provided increase in 2016 minimum wage, minimum wage and minimum pension by 5 percent.

While the Finance Ministry did not support the bill because of lack of money.

“According to calculations of the Ministry, improving social standards requires about 59 billion UAH of expenses, and in General, all the proposed areas to be additionally more than 70 billion UAH”, – said the head of the Subcommittee on expenditures of the state budget Alexander Gorbunov.

In the middle of the month Parliament passed a bill according to which Ukrainians will increase the subsistence minimum of 48 USD. Due to this, from December 1 the living wage will be UAH instead of 1544 1496 USD.

This year the government decided twice to raise social standards. The first increase of 6 percent occurred from may 1.
