The decision of the district court of Amsterdam, the Scythian gold is quite justified, because the items belonged to Ukraine. This was stated by the Director of the Kremlin museums Elena Gagarina, daughter of the first Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.

“It is important to understand that the whole Museum Fund – is a property of the state, not the property of a single Museum or other cultural institution. In this case, when the items were removed from the territory of Ukraine and belonged to the Ukraine as a state, this solution seems to me quite reasonable,” – said the Director.

Gagarin said that all issues of Museum exhibits about belonging to a particular Museum should be resolved after the items back to the owner.

She also recalled that “there are rules of international law” to which all museums in its international exhibition activities.

As reported Корреспондент.netin February 2014, the collection of Scythian gold from five Ukrainian museums was taken to Amsterdam where it was presented at the exhibition “Crimea: gold and secrets of the Black sea” in the Allard Pierson Museum.

On 31 August the show is over, but after the annexation of Crimea, the Dutch side refused to return the exhibits in the museums of the Peninsula, citing the refusal that took them from Ukraine.

Today, December 14, the district court of Amsterdam decided to return Scythian gold Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the decision of the court proves that the Crimea is Ukrainian.
