Each victim of the massacre of over three months must be paid for 11 thousand euros as compensation of moral damage.
The Ukrainian authorities were found guilty in the case of the pogrom of the Roma camps in the Odessa region in 2002. The decision adopted by the European court of human rights (ECHR). His decision was made public on Tuesday, November 6.
In accordance with the court’s decision Ukraine is obliged to pay 11 thousand euros each of the 12 victims.
“The Respondent state must pay within three months from the date of the final decision in accordance with paragraph 2 of article 44 of the Convention, the following amounts to be converted into the currency of the Respondent state at the rate applicable at the date of settlement: 11 000 EUR to each applicant, plus any tax that may be chargeable, in respect of non-pecuniary damage”, – is spoken in the decree of the court.
As you know, in Ukraine there are periodic pogroms of Roma camps. So, on 24 June 2018 on the outskirts of Lviv, a group of teenagers in masks attacked a Roma camp, resulting in the deaths of 24-year-old rum, three more got wounds. Also, on June 7 in Goloseevsky Park of Kiev smashed the camp Roma.
