In Ukraine for the heating season yet accumulated an insufficient amount of coal and fuel oil in the warehouses of thermal power plants and CHP.

The accumulation of coal and fuel oil in the warehouses of thermal power plants and cogeneration plants in Ukraine for the heating season is behind schedule. This was stated by Deputy Minister of energy and coal industry Anatolii Korzun at a press conference on Friday, October 12, reports UNN.

“Today, we have almost two million tons in the warehouses of generating companies in the gas group, the task is almost done – only a few thousand tons, there is some lag in the anthracite group. This question requires separate consideration and action thereon taken,” he said.

According to the energy Ministry, as of November 1 at TPPs and cogeneration plants in Ukraine should be accumulated 2.6 million tons of coal, 1 million tons of which is anthracite coal, and 1.6 tons of gas.

While Korzun said that the task of the government to accumulate in underground storage of 17 million cubic meters of gas today is almost done. However, there is a lag in the accumulation of stocks of fuel oil, he said.

As reported, in January-September 2018 Ukraine increased import of coal and anthracite by 20% (2,605 million tonnes) compared to the same period of 2017 – up to 15,640 million tons.

On the eve it became known that next year Ukraine plans to import from Russia 72% of the total anthracite – 3,815 million tons, and from the USA – 418 thousand tons.
