The import of Ukrainian fruits and vegetables has been temporarily suspended due to a Directive of the European Union.

The European Commission has included Ukraine in the list of countries that can export fruits and vegetables to the EU. About it reports a press-service of Gospodarevskaya Thursday, September 5.

Reportedly, the Agency appealed to the European Commission with a request for recognition of the whole territory of Ukraine are free from quarantine organisms according to the EU Council Directive 2019/523, which entered into force on 1 September. After consideration of the application of Gospodarevskaya, the EC has included Ukraine in the list of countries allowed to export fruit and vegetables without additional non-tariff barriers.

Banning the export of some Ukrainian fruit and vegetables in the EU became known yesterday.

Ukrainian fruit and vegetable Association said that Ukraine could lose 15% of Apple exports from the EU Directive.

Note, for the first half of 2019, Ukraine exported goods in the EU at nearly 10.3 billion dollars, that is 5% higher than the same period last year.
