Ukraine regularly receives financial assistance from the EU

Financial control and political supervision of the execution of the state budget is a critical component of accountability in public spending, according to the European Union.

The European Union will provide financial assistance to the accounts chamber of Ukraine in carrying out external audit of the execution of the state budget in the framework of the planned assistance programmes in the field of public Finance management.

This was stated by the head of the EU delegation in Ukraine Hugh Mingarelli during a meeting with Chairman of the accounts chamber Valery Patskan, the press service of the accounting chamber.

“Provide support for external audit within the planned assistance programmes in the field of public Finance management with a budget over 50 million euros,” – said at the meeting Mingarelli.

The parties drew attention to the fact that financial control and political supervision of the execution of the state budget is a critical component of accountability in public spending.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will receive from the EU € 17 million for research projects under Horizon 2020. The money will be allocated for 83 Ukrainian organizations.
