The EU will give the next tranche in the amount of €54 million on the Fund’s efficiency. The agreement will be signed before the end of the year.

The European Union is ready to provide Ukraine tranche in the amount of €54 million for financing state institutions, the energy efficiency Fund. On Tuesday, 18 September, announced Vice Prime Minister – Minister of regional development, construction, housing and utilities Gennady Zubko in his Facebook.

“The EU will provide the next tranche in the amount of €54 million on the Fund’s efficiency. The agreement will be signed before the end of the year. This was confirmed today by the Deputy head of the General Directorate for neighbourhood policy and negotiations to expand the European Commission Catarina Maternova”, – he wrote on the social network.

As noted in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, during the meeting the representatives of Ukraine and the EU discussed the establishment of the coordinating Council of donors on the reform of energy efficiency.

“We are already more than two years working with our European partners, the European Union, Germany, IFC, to create the energy efficiency Fund, which is part of the implementation of key laws on energy efficiency. Already launched a contest for the election of independent members of the Supervisory Council, November 14 will be formed all of its members. The first energy certificates of buildings. Initiated certification of energy auditors. With 14 universities of Ukraine launched a training program for energy auditors”, said Zubco.

Deputy Prime Minister added that he also secured funding from the state budget by 2019. In particular, adopted a resolution to increase the Charter capital to UAH 1.6 billion.

Earlier it was reported that to obtain macro-financial assistance of the European Union, Ukraine will have to fulfill the conditions of the previous third program.

The EU Council on June 26 approved the granting Ukraine one billion euros macro-financial assistance. July 6 this decision was published in the official journal of the European Union.
