The EU will help Ukraine with grants

The European Commission believes that Kyiv demonstrates progress in achieving macroeconomic stability.

The European Commission intends to allocate Ukraine in 2017 EUR 200 million in the form of various grants. About today in London, said the Deputy Chairman of the EC financial stability, financial services and Valdis Dombrovskis, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“This year, the European Commission will decide on new programmes amounting to about EUR 200 million in grants,” said Dombrovskis during a conference on reforms in Ukraine.

According to him, the European Union has decided to grant Ukraine macro-financial assistance in the amount of 3.4 billion euros, of which 2.8 billion already allocated.

He also noted that Ukraine demonstrates significant progress in achieving macroeconomic stability.

As reported Корреспондент.netin November 2016, the European Union moved to Ukraine three tranches for a total amount of 54 million euros to support reforms in the sphere of decentralization, transport and technical standardization in Ukraine.

In April 2017, the EU has provided Ukraine the second tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of 600 million euros.
