В Еврокомиссии инициируют сокращение долларовых расчетов в ЕС

The European Commission intend to increase the share of the single European currency in international trade.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker advocated the reduction of dollar-denominated payments in the European Union. He said this on Wednesday, September 12, at the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the press service of the EC.

In particular, Juncker believes that it is necessary to increase the share of the Euro in international trade. Initiatives to achieve this goal he promised to submit by the end of this year.

“It is absurd that Europe pays 80% of energy imports is $ 300 billion – in us dollars when the US accounts for only 2% of our imports. It is absurd that the European companies are buying European planes in dollars, not euros,” – said Juncker.

He believes that “the Euro should be a tool face and a new, more sovereign Europe”.

“We must first bring order to your home, strengthening our economic and monetary Union that we have already begun to do”, – said the head of the European Commission.

Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said about the necessity to put an end to the dominance of the dollar in world trade.

It was also reported that Iran and Iraq refused to use American dollar in bilateral trade agreements.
