Еврокомиссия выступит с новой инициативой по Северному потоку-2

The third energy package of the EU, in particular, provides that the gas supplier is not entitled to own main pipelines in the EU. It also requires owners of gas pipelines to provide access to transport capacity to other companies.

Since the beginning of this year the EC is trying to get a mandate from the countries-members of EU at negotiations on the terms of operation of the Nord stream-2. While it is not possible.

Nord stream-2 needs to be laid on the Baltic sea next to the already laid the Nord stream-1 in 2018 and commissioned in 2019.

The fact that the pipeline will be launched in 2019, as is currently planned, the European Commission does not count, said the Agency interlocutor.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that the EU has no unified position on the provision of the European Commission mandate on negotiations with Russia on the gas pipeline project Nord stream-2.
