The European Commission launched an investigation against hot rolled steel from Brazil, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, and Serbia in July last year in response to a complaint by the European steel Association Eurofer.

During the investigation it became known that the share of hot rolled steel from all countries, except Serbia, the EU market grew to 12.6% in 2016 from 7.5% in 2013. The prices for steel have fallen by a quarter.

Therefore, the EC decided to terminate the investigation in respect of Serbia and to impose duties of other manufacturers.
