As a result of accident of helicopter in Afghanistan on 2 September killed two citizens of Ukraine, another Ukrainian was injured and is in hospital at the military base. About this informed the head of the Department of consular security Vasily Kirilich in comments to the Public.

“In contacts with official representatives of Afghanistan confirmed that on 2 September on the territory of Balkh province, near the administrative centre the city of Mazar-I-Sharif (Afghanistan), there was a helicopter crash, which killed 12 people, including 2 citizens of Ukraine , crew members of the helicopter,” – said Kirilich.

According to him, the Consul of Ukraine plans to fly to Afghanistan.

Recall that the crashed Mi-8 helicopter belonged to the Moldovan company Valan international cargo, but carried out missions on contract with the UN. In the crash killed 2 crew members – citizens of Ukraine, and 10 soldiers. Total on Board were 14 people.

Previously in Ethiopia, a military helicopter has crashed, 17 of the victims.
