The foreign Ministry held a meeting with Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine vote in the UN. This broadcast channel “112 Ukraine” said the speaker of the Ministry of internal Affairs in Donetsk region.

“Today, December 26, invited the Ambassador of Israel in Ukraine in the Ministry of foreign Affairs to discuss the further development of our relations, established after the adoption of UN security Council resolution 2334 on the situation in the middle East. It expressed disappointment with certain emotional reactions on the Israeli side on the results of the vote in new York. Again it was provided with an explanation for the motives that determined the position of the delegation of Ukraine to support this project,” said Betz.

According to her, the Ambassador had already visited the office, and before it was brought Ukraine’s position, also discussed a pending visit to Israel, Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groisman.

“Discussed in detail, but I think in any case, the visit will take place,” said Betz.

“I would like to emphasize that if to reject emotions and to look at solely from the point of view of international law, our position is absolutely consistent and balanced on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We advocate the peaceful coexistence of two independent States and the settlement of the conflict must be settled only by peaceful means… a Key principle of our vote was the basis of the principle of international law a key element of which is the principle of territorial integrity of the state”, – said the speaker of the foreign Ministry.

Betz also expressed the hope that “an emotional debate” will not prevent the traditionally friendly Ukrainian-Israeli relations, which have always been based on mutual respect and common interests.

We will remind, on December 23, the UN security Council adopted a resolution which stated that Israel’s building of settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory “has no legal effect and constitutes a flagrant violation of international law.”

It was supported by 14 members of the security Council, including Ukraine. USA, who have previously blocked such projects, abstained. The authors of the document are Malaysia, New Zealand, Senegal and Venezuela.

After Ukraine supported the resolution, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has canceled a planned visit of the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman.

As reported, on December 19, Israel supported the General Assembly resolution according to which Russia recognized the aggressor state, and Crimea – temporarily occupied territory.
