The foreign Ministry of Ukraine commented on the clash in the sea of Azov

The Ukrainian foreign Ministry promised to inform partners about the actions of Russia in the Azov sea.

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Sunday, 25 November, stated that it will implement all appropriate measures diplomatic and international legal response to the incident in the Azov sea in which a Russian ship rammed the Ukrainian tow. A statement released by the press service of the Ministry.

“Provocative actions by Russia in the Black sea and the Azov sea crossed the line and became aggressive. The ships of the Russian Federation in violation of the freedom of navigation has illegally used force against the ships of naval forces of Ukraine. We regard such actions as a violation of the UN Charter, the UN Convention on the law of the sea. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine shall take all appropriate measures diplomatic and international legal response”, – stated in it.

Also the foreign Minister promised to inform partners about the actions of Russia in the Azov sea.

“They carry a threat to the security of all States in the black sea region, and therefore require a clear response from the international community,” the statement ends.

Previously, the Command of the naval forces of Ukraine reported that the Russian ship rammed the Ukrainian Yana RAID tug Kapu, accompanied by artillery boats have made a planned transition from the port of Odessa to the port of Mariupol. The Ministry noted that it had previously informed the Russian side.

In turn in Russia has said that Ukrainian ships violated the border. After the collision the Kerch Strait closed for the passage of the civil courts.
