In may, Viktor Muzhenko, was dismissed from the post of head of the General staff, and now sent by the President to the reserve.

President Vladimir Zelensky dismissed the former head of the General staff Viktor Muzhenko from military service. The corresponding decree appeared on the President’s website on Monday, September 2.

“To dismiss army General of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko N. military service in the reserve in connection with carrying out organizational activities with the right to wear military uniform”, – stated in the decree.

Recall, may 21 Zelensky fired Muzhenko from the post of chief of the General staff – commander of armed forces. In his place was appointed Ruslan Homchak.

Muzhenko headed the General staff since 2014. 24 Aug 2014 by the decree of the President of Petro Poroshenko Muzhenko was promoted to the rank of Colonel General. 14 Oct 2015 he was promoted to General of the army.
