The GPU is ready to interview Yanukovych videoconference, but this is prevented by the lawyers, – Gorbatyuk

The state office of public Prosecutor is ready to take over the interrogation of Viktor Yanukovych in the video conference, but his lawyers prevented it. About it on air “5 channel” said the head of the special Department of the GPU Sergey Gorbatyuk.

“We offer lawyers (Yanukovych – ed.) but they don’t want to do. They indicate that legally allegedly not sufficiently spelled out in the Criminal procedure code, the procedure for this. We want to hear the position of the suspect in the case, ready for this teleconference, and I have lawyers on TV said this,” – said Gorbatyuk.

Note, the acting Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Sevruk believes that to depose Yanukovych in a videoconference it is pointless.

We will remind, lawyers of Yanukovych proposed a GPU to question him in Russia, however, investigators must obtain permission from the Russian side.

In February 2016, the General Prosecutor of Ukraine Viktor Shokin said that the investigation Yanukovych is almost over, set up his involvement in the killings on the Maidan in winter 2014, the ex-President claims that the shootings on the Maidan involved in the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, the first Vice-speaker of the Rada Andrew Parubiy and the people’s Deputy Sergey Pashinsky. According to Yanukovych, so they came to power.

As reported, Viktor Yanukovych left Ukraine in February 2014 during the mass protests on Independence square, the participants of which demanded his resignation. In February 2015 the Verkhovna Rada has deprived him of the title of President.

Yanukovych went to Russia, where he currently resided. Meanwhile in Ukraine against him opened a number of criminal proceedings. In particular, according to the PGO, the decision on dispersal of the Maidan Yanukovych was taken, and the decree was given to the head of the interior Ministry Vitaly Zakharchenko and Secretary of the NSDC Alexander Klyuev.

In his first interview for the Western press in June 2015, Yanukovych said that he is grateful to Russian President Vladimir Putin for what he saved his life. In addition, Yanukovych once again said that the Maidan was organized to destabilize the situation in the country.
