An internal investigation at Nissan showed that Hiroto Saikawa was wrongly overpaid more than 430 thousand dollars in premiums.

President and chief Executive officer (CEO) Japanese automobile Corporation Nissan Motor Hiroto Saikawa resigned. His successor will be appointed by the end of October, Kyodo news Agency reported on Monday, September 16.

The resignation Saikawa, who recently admitted receiving excessive premiums associated with the need to align the company’s profitability and improve its partnership with French Renault.

An internal investigation at Nissan showed that Saikawa was wrongly overpaid 47 million yen (about 434 thousand dollars) as prizes, and attributed his resignation.

Saikawa temporarily replaced 63-year-old Manager Yasuhiro Yamauchi, a member of the Board of Directors as Nissan and Renault.

Recall the problem Nissan has escalated in November 2018 in connection with the arrest of Carlos Ghosn – the former head of the company and its Alliance with Renault and Mitsubishi. He was accused of financial irregularities and tax evasion. He is now under house arrest.

Earlier it was reported that financial fraud Carlos Ghosn caused damage to the Nissan in the amount of 35 billion yen ($327 million).
