He stated this in an interview with Bild newspaper published on Thursday, December 6.
According to Igor Voronchenko, he is ready to go to a Russian prison if Russian President Vladimir Putin to release the detained sailors.
“It breaks my heart when I see their soldiers, which illegally kept in Russia”, − said the head of the Ukrainian Navy.
At the same time Admiral in contrast the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko believes that NATO warships would help the country in the sea of Azov.
“There is an agreement from 2003, according to which any military ship for entry in the Azov sea must have permission from the Ukraine and from Russia. This means that even if Ukraine wanted Russia would not allow” − said Voronchenko.
In turn, he urged NATO to increase its presence in the Black sea.
November 25, Russian forces seized two Ukrainian boats and a tugboat off the coast of Russia annexed the Crimea Peninsula on the approach to Kerch Strait.
