The new head of the High Council of justice appointed Vladimir Govorukha. About it reports a press-service of VSP on Tuesday, April 16.

Soobshaet that today the former Chairman of the High Council of justice Igor Benedik addressed with the statement in which asked to stop his powers as President of the court. Council members unanimously upheld a statement.

“According to the Protocol of the counting Commission for the election of the Chairman of the High Council of justice of 16 April 2019 the results of the secret ballot for the candidate of Vladimir Govoruhin to the position of Chairman of the High Council of justice voted 17 members of the High Council of justice, which is more than half of the constitutional composition of the High Council of justice”, – stated in the message.

Vladimir Govorukha was elected a member of the High Council of justice of 6 March 2018. He was previously judge of the Kyiv court of appeal.

Note, the judge elected from among the members of the High Council of justice for a period of two years.
