The Quartet underlined the importance of implementation of all measures necessary for compliance with the ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine.

French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko Tuesday held a telephone conversation, during which discussed issues of settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and reaffirmed their commitment to the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the statement said the Elysee Palace.

“Three presidents and the Chancellor reaffirmed their commitment to the Minsk agreements and its determination to do everything for their implementation in full and as quickly as possible”, — is told in the communique of administration of Hollande.

They stressed the importance of implementation of all measures necessary for compliance with the ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine, starting with the withdrawal of weapons and the withdrawal of troops and exchange of prisoners.

“They also discussed the work of political Affairs, in particular, to lead to the holding of local elections in Donbas in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and standards of the OSCE”, — reads the statement of the Elysee Palace.

Earlier, the leaders of the Quartet supported the deployment of a police mission of the OSCE in the Donbas.
