The level of non-performing loans in the banking system of Ukraine is over 40%, reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.

“The level of non-performing loans in the banks is over 40%. This figure exists in a crisis economy. The NBU expects the final adoption of the law on pre-judicial restructuring (adopted in the first reading) and is already working on its implementation”, – said the Deputy head of the National Bank Elena Rozhkova during a roundtable on Tuesday.

She also reported that banks decapitalization amounting to about 70 billion UAH.

“More than 70% of the banking system is in the process of capitalization. Moreover, in the productive process. Capitalize on already about 70 billion UAH. This has a positive effect on their balance sheets, the ability to restructure loans, including the currency,” said Rozhkova.

As reported, Ukraine’s next IMF tranche should take almost 20 bills.
