From now on Ukraine’s territory is the territory of the restored Archdiocese of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, said the society.

Former Secretary of the late Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev, Metropolitan Alexander (drabinko), a Hierarch of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, declared himself a cleric of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. He said this in comments to Gromadsky TV.

“At the last meeting of the Patriarchate of Constantinople abolished the transfer of the Kyiv Metropolitanate to the Moscow Patriarchate. Since we can assume that the territory of Ukraine is the territory of the restored Archdiocese of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. In fact, from now on (after this decision) we are, today, the clergy of the Church of Constantinople,” – said the Metropolitan of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vishnevsky Alexander (drabinko).

On the eve of the Russian Orthodox Church announced the termination of relations with the Constantinople Patriarchate. This decision was taken due to the beginning of the process of granting the Ukrainian Church autocephaly.

According to the representative of the Kyiv Patriarchate, the situation “will sooner or later be fixed and the Russian Orthodox Church will return to the fellowship.”

Today, President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch, who returned from Constantinople in Ukraine to continue work on the last stage of granting the Ukrainian Church Thomas.
