The Ministry of Finance hope that the IMF will take a positive decision on the next loan tranche in June

The Board of Directors of the International monetary Fund (IMF) estimated in June will consider the issue of continuation of cooperation with Ukraine according to the EFF program, said the Agency “Interfax-Ukraine” Deputy Minister of Finance Yuriy Butsa.

“We are committed to fulfill all the preliminary conditions in June. I hope that in June, after Ukraine’s implementation of all the commitments, immediately there will be a meeting of the Foundation Council, which will take a positive decision”, – he said.

Yuri Butsa also confirmed that an IMF mission, as planned, intends to complete work on 18 may.

“We have no problem, uncoordinated issues that its work extended. The essence of the mission – harmonization of the text of the Memorandum. Today, we are verifying all the text again,” he explained, adding: “I hope the IMF mission will return to Washington with a clear understanding that the government of Ukraine will implement all those things that we agreed on earlier and now.”

We will remind, open IMF in March 2015 the four-year EFF program for Ukraine totaling SDR 12.348 billion (about $ 17 billion.) originally intended to hold quarterly program review, the allocation of Kiev 2015, in four tranches, and in 2016 – four more. However, to date the country has received only the first tranche of funds to $ 5 billion. and second – 1.7 billion.

The third and fourth tranches at $ 1.7 billion Ukraine had to receive in late 2015, but due to the government crisis and political instability, this has not happened. The IMF stated that it did not consider the possibility of suspending cooperation with Ukraine and are ready to work with the new government, headed by Vladimir Groisman.

The IMF Board of Directors will evaluate the compliance of Ukraine to the updated rules of lending during the completion of the second revision of the program of cooperation with Ukraine in the framework of the EFF. The IMF mission arrived in Ukraine on may 10.
