The national Bank of Ukraine on the auction for the sale of foreign currency on Tuesday responded to 22 requests totaling $66.6 million reported on the website of the regulator on August 14.

Up for auction amount to $100 million was filed 46 applications totaling $98.1 million at the rate of 27,465 UAH/$1 UAH to 27.47/$1.

The cutoff rate was set at the level of 27.46, UAH/$1. The average rate on the auction amounted to 27,4619 UAH/$1.

According to the NBU, the reference value of the hryvnia to the dollar on Tuesday, August 14, declined to 27,4655 UAH/$1 UAH 27,3382/$1 the previous day.

During the previous auction, on 3 August, the NBU granted 18 applications amounting to $50 million in Total, the auction volume to $50 million was filed 41 applications for a total of $75.5 million at the rate of 27.04 from UAH/$1 to UAH 27,095/$1. The average rate on the auction amounted to 27,0886 UAH/$1.

Last week it became known that Ukraine’s international reserves fell by $230 million, the NBU explained that the payments on the public debt and interventions on the interbank market.

Managing partner of investment company Capital Times, the financier Eric Naiman believes that the ultimate objective of the NBU is the national currency on the level of 30-32 per dollar.
