Russian money with kinds of Crimea in Ukraine is now outlawed

The ban applies to all banks and financial institutions in the country.

National Bank forbade banks and financial institutions of Ukraine to carry out any operations with banknotes Central Bank of the Russian Federation with the image of the objects located on the occupied Ukrainian territory. This was reported on the official website of the national Bank.

As noted, the prohibition also applies to transactions conducted during the purchase/sale of foreign currency between banks.

Also financial institutions and Ukrposhta are prohibited during transactions to accept and/or to give cash of foreign currency – banknotes and coins-the Central Bank of the Russian Federation with the image of the objects in the occupied Ukrainian territory.

Appropriate prohibitions on transactions with such notes and coins determined by the resolution of Board of National Bank from October 13, 2017.

“This document changes in instruction on the procedure of organization and implementation of foreign exchange transactions on the territory of Ukraine, the regulations on conducting cash transactions by banks in Ukraine. The decree comes into force from 17 October 2017,” – said the NBU.

We will remind, in Russia introduced a new banknote denomination of 200 rubles, which depicts the objects of the annexed Crimea.
