For 11 months of 2018 the national Bank of Ukraine withdrew from circulation and disposed of banknotes totalling 41.6 billion hryvnia. This was reported by the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine in response to the request of UNN on Monday, December 31.
“For Jan-Nov 2018 National Bank of Ukraine disposed of the to circulation of banknotes in number 594,8 million shares for a total amount of 41 638 million hryvnias”, – is spoken in the message.
According to the NBU, were disposed on the banknote denominations of 1 UAH 60.4 million pieces; 2 UAH 34.8 million; 5 UAH 57.2 million; 10 UAH 73.1 million; UAH 20 is $ 58.8 million, and UAH 50 – 99,9 million PCs, 100 UAH – 112,0 million units; 200 UAH 87,3 million; 500 UAH 11.3 million.
The NBU noted that this year’s performance is less than for the corresponding period in 2017 the number – on 20,4%, and 11% (in January – November 2017 national Bank disposed of is not suitable to circulation of banknotes in number 747,2 million units totaling 46 768 million).
Also, the NBU clarified that utilize only national currency – coin, inclusive.
“Fit for circulation coins withdrawn from cash circulation and destroyed by the Mint banknote printing and minting works of the NBU. The metal for circulation coins goes to the facility,” said the regulator.
Earlier it was reported that in the Dnipropetrovsk region found “cemetery of the hryvnia.” In the forest they found bags with destroyed millions of UAH. In turn, the NBU sent a request to the company, which carries out the disposal of the money to investigate.
Recall, for the entire 2017 NBU disposed of hryvnia banknotes by 48.35 billion. All were seized 749 million of worn banknotes.
