“With the surplus of consolidated balance of payments this will increase international reserves up to $22.1 billion (or 4.2 months of imports of the future period) at the end of 2018,” said acting head of the national Bank Yakov Smoliy at a press conference in Kiev.

According to the updated forecasts of the Central Bank, published this day, he has improved the assessment of the current account deficit in 2017 from $4.1 billion to $4 billion next year – from $4.6 billion to $4.2 billion, but has lowered it for 2019 from $3.9 to $4.2 billion.

At the same time the international reserves of the NBU at the end of 2017 were reduced from $20 billion to $18.6 billion in 2018, from $27.1 billion to $22.2 billion and in 2019 – from $25.7 billion to $21.2 billion
