The National Bank expects that the growth of Ukraine’s economy this year will amount to 3-3,5%. This was at the briefing in the national Bank said the Director of the financial stability Department of the NBU Vitaliy vavryshchuk, UKRINFORM reported on Tuesday, June 12.

“According to our forecasts, GDP will grow by 3-3,5% in 2018. We would like to have these rates been higher, particularly given the significant decline in production during the crisis. The economy needs new impulses, and such impulses could be structural and institutional reforms, which are laid down in a cooperation program with the IMF. So we want the resumption of this program,” said vavrischuk.

He reminded that Ukraine in the next few years we will have to Fund significant amounts of external borrowing. The NBU want to attract new loans were carried out on favorable terms at a reasonable interest rate.

“It also needs to resume cooperation with the IMF and other international financial institutions,” said vavrischuk and added that after the adoption of the law on Higher anti-corruption court significantly increased the chances of rapid recovery program, but there are still some requirements that need to be done.

“The national Bank hopes and expects that by the autumn we will enter into a cooperation program with the IMF”, – concluded the Director of the financial stability Department of the NBU.

Earlier it was reported that for the current year, the NBU expects GDP growth to 3.4%. At the same time in the following years the growth of the gross domestic product will decline.

Recall, Ukraine in the fall may obtain the fifth tranche from the IMF. This was announced by the head of the National Bank of Ukraine Yakov Smoliy.
