The national security Council called the attack near Elenovka provocation

СНБО назвал обстрел под Еленовкой провокацией

Turchynov cited a number of facts refuting the accusations of shelling Yelenovka military.

The head of the NSDC Oleksandr Turchynov said that the shelling Yelenovka, in which four people were killed, is one of the provocations of separatists to discredit APU prior to the next meeting of Tripartite contact group in Minsk.

“I Express my sincere condolences to the families of the tragically deceased Ukrainian citizens and victims of shelling by Russian-terrorist groups near the village of Elenovka”, – quoted Turchynov press service of the NSDC.

According to him, the facts of the crime indicate that the “provocation was thoroughly planned in advance, and it was preceded by the arrival in Donetsk group of Russian “reporters propagandists, who were among the first arrived at the place of Commission of provocations and immediately implemented a live television broadcast from the scene”.

Turchynov claims that since 26 April the separatists “began preparations for provocation by the artificial creation of queues on the outskirts of the village of Elenovka, tightening check of documents of citizens, who traveled from the occupied territories”. In addition, according to Turchynov, a representative of the DNR Eduard Basurin advance “predicted” and announced the shelling of the checkpoint of entry and exit in Elenovka.

“On the basis of irrefutable facts and evidence of the locals becomes clear that the shelling of civilian citizens was carried out from the area of the filtration plant near the village of Clear (the North-Western outskirts of Dokuchaevsk, which is on territory controlled by the insurgents at a distance of about 4 km from the scene of the tragedy”, – said Turchinov.

He stressed that the Ukrainian side is committed to implementing the Minsk agreement and took weapons from the contact line.

He stressed that evidence of innocence of the APU to fire in Elenovka is the fact that the observers of the Russian and Ukrainian sides of the Joint center for control and coordination of questions of ceasefire and stabilization of the demarcation line (SCCC) in the period from 00:00 to 06:00 on 27 April 2016 has not recorded a single fact shelling Yelenovka from artillery systems of the APU. In addition, in the last month, not a single confirmed case of violation of the ceasefire by the Armed forces of Ukraine in the part of the use of artillery in the area.

Earlier, the OSCE published a report about the shelling Yelenovka, under which the checkpoint was shelled from the West-South-West direction.

Note, the OSCE report is not reported, who controlled the territory from which fire was opened.
