Turchynov sees no obstacles to promptly consider the appeal of the Parliament’s sanctions against Ukraine 112 and NewsOne.

Appeal of the Verkhovna Rada, the national security Council on imposing sanctions against companies in the ownership structure of the channels 112 Ukraine and NewsOne is their founders. This was stated by the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov, Interfax-Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian Parliament has the right to appeal to the national security Council with the initiative of introduction of sanctions and it acted within its powers. We have not yet received the official text of this decision, but what was discussed, suggests that sanctions are directed specifically against the founders of these channels,” – said Turchinov.

He noted that the TV channel 112 Ukraine and NewsOne complex ownership structure, but, “of course, there are non-residents” of Ukraine.

“The law is a position where sanctions can be applied to the Ukrainian legal entities. We are talking about terrorist activities, and the promotion of terrorism is a part of terrorist activities”, – said Turchinov.

The NSDC Secretary pointed out that there are no obstacles to the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada was quickly considered by the Council.

As reported, on the eve of the Rada recommended that the national security Council to impose sanctions against companies that are included in the ownership structure of the channels 112 Ukraine and NewsOne.
