The national team of Ukraine on judo has managed to win one medal at the European Championships

Svetlana Yaremka won the silver medal in the category over 78 kg at women.

The national team of Ukraine on judo the last time the championship came back without medals in 1999. Did not remain without awards our judokas and in 2016 at the European Championships, which ended in Kazan.

If in the first two days none of our judoists didn’t manage to pass on 1/8, then on the last day just three Ukrainians claimed the medals. In the end, Svetlana Yaremka (category over 78 kg) replenished the Treasury of the Ukrainian team silver medal.

Bronze medalist of last European championship Yaremka this year reached the finals, having won the race Vice-champion of Europe-2014 Larisa CERIC of Bosnia, Russian woman Ksenia Chibisova and yasmin Culbs from Germany.

In the final Yaremka met with Kyra Sayit from Turkey and once in the beginning of the second minute in a stranglehold rivals, our sportswoman liberation have failed – and was forced to accept silver.

By kedzhau Nyabali (weight category up to 90 kg) reached the quarterfinals, but lost out to eventual European champion Varlam Liparteliani of Georgia, and later lost in the consolation tournament against the Swedish Marcus Nyman.

Alexander Gordienko (over 100 kg) also lost in the quarterfinals of the Georgian Levani Matiashvili, in the first match of the consolation he was able to cope with Andre Breitbart, but in fight for bronze, the Ukrainian lost to Romanian Daniel of NAT.
