The share of North America accounted for more than half of workers oil and gas drilling.

The average number of active oil and gas rigs in the world in 2017 has increased for the first time in the last three years. This is evidenced by the us oilfield services company Baker Hughes.

So, last year the figure increased to 2029 compared to 1593 in 2016, which was the minimum number of plants for the last 17 years.

In 2015, there were 2337 drilling, while in 2014 worked with max since 1985, the number of installations – 3578.

Last December, the global number of drilling rigs increased to 2089 plants vs 2057 in November. The December figure was 317 above the level for the same month of 2016.

In the U.S. the number of installations in the last month increased by 19 compared to November and amounted to 930 in Canada – one, reaching 205. Thus, the share of North America currently accounts for 54,23% of the working drilling rigs in the world against 47.6% in December 2016.

The number of drilling over the past month in Europe has increased by two to 87 in the Asia-Pacific region quadrupled to 217 in Latin America, 14 to 195.

Meanwhile, in Africa the number of installations decreased by 8 and amounted to 77, and the middle East, the rate has not changed – 378.
