The number of victims of the mass poisoning of participants of the festival “Pearl of the Kamenets”, which took place 19-21 November in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region has increased to 109 as of November 24. This was reported in the state foods and consumer service of Ukraine.

Among the victims 94 children and 15 adults.

The Agency specified that the place of residence to hospitals in the regions addressed the following number of victims:

Kiev – 13 people (11 children, 2 adults);

Kyiv region (Brovary) – 19 people (15 children, 3 adults);

Dnipropetrovsk region – 11 (11 children);

Odessa – 8 people (6 children, 2 adults);

Sums’ka oblast – 20 people (19 children);

Lviv region – 8 people (6 children, 2 adults);

Ivano-Frankivsk oblast – 15 people (13 kids, 2 adults);

Kharkiv oblast – 14 people (11 children, 3 adults).

Mykolaiv oblast – 1 adult.

“Today, after returning to the places of residence of 46 people continue treatment in inpatient units in Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, Mykolaiv oblasts and city of Kiev”, – is told in the message.

According to the state Gospodarevskaya in Khmelnytskyi region, with the outbreak of acute intestinal infection for medical aid to hospitals in the region have treated 70 people, including 59 children and 11 adults.

“Now in Khmelnytskyi region continue inpatient treatment 14 people, including 11 children and 3 adults that have sought medical help from 22 to 23 November,” – said in the message.

It is reported that the institution in which the poisoning occurred, issued an order to temporarily suspend the work.

Upon the outbreak prepared the materials to law enforcement agencies, preparing materials for submission to the court.

We will remind, on November 22 it became known that in Khmelnytskyi region as a result of poisoning was hospitalized 9 children and 3 adults. They all took part in the children’s youth festival in Kamenetz-Podolsk and lived in a hotel-restaurant complex and together ate. A preliminary diagnosis of “Acute gastroenterocolitis”.

On the same day, arrived in Kiev from Khmelnytskyi region 18 poisoned children. At the railway station they were met by the staff of emergency medical care. Later on, the doctor suggested that the cause of the poisoning was Salmonella.

The state foods and consumer service said that in the hotel-restaurant complex “Xenia” sanitary-epidemiological examination has begun still on November 21. Upon the outbreak prepared the materials to the Prosecutor.

Law enforcers qualified the fact of poisoning participants of the festival on the article “Violation of sanitary rules and regulations concerning the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisoning” of the criminal code, but Hlushchenko Volodymyr Lapa said that because of violations we are talking about the reclassification of the case.
