Today, April 20, 2016, during the negotiations of the contact group on settling the situation in Donbas, the coordinator of the humanitarian sub-groups from the OSCE demanded to investigate options for the resumption of work of points of admissions in the Luhansk region on the eve of holidays. This was stated by the OSCE representative Martin Sajdik, reports “BelTA”.

“The coordinator of the working group demanded that all parties to explore various options to support the rapid reopening of crossing points”, – said Sidik and noted that we are talking about Luhansk oblast.

Also Sajdik emphasized that the checkpoints can be opened only after compliance with the ceasefire.

“Members of the working group for humanitarian Affairs expressed concern about the increase in the number of violations of the ceasefire. They agreed to do everything possible for the residents of Eastern Ukraine could visit their relatives and friends living on the other side of the line of contact. Especially during the coming Easter holidays. Therefore, all checkpoints across the line of contact must be open and operating,” said Sidik.

Earlier official representatives of the special monitoring mission of the OSCE urged all parties to the conflict in the Donbas to open additional checkpoints for civilians.
