The PACE resolution calls to change the law on reintegration of Donbass – the opposition bloc

In the text of the resolution included the amendment of the people’s Deputy Vadim Novinsky on the need to consider the Minsk agreement, said the Opposition bloc.

The parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in its resolution on “the Humanitarian consequences of the war in Ukraine” of January 23, has taken into account the amendment of the Ukrainian MP Vadim Novinsky with an appeal to bring adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the law on the reintegration of Donbass in line with Minsk agreements. This is stated in the press service of the Opposition bloc released on Wednesday, January 24.

According to the press service, Novinsky during the debate on the text of the resolution stated that the act on the reintegration of Donbass contains provisions authorizing the army and intelligence agencies to freely search the homes and property of the inhabitants of the regions.

“By adopting this law from which the conscious thrown out any reference to approved by the UN security Council and mentioned in the four resolutions of the PACE of the Minsk agreement, the ruling coalition in the Ukrainian Parliament gives the world to understand that does not want a diplomatic regulation of the conflict,” he said, urging the Assembly to condemn the attempt of unilateral refusal of execution of the Minsk agreements and to support the amendment to the resolution, aimed at protecting the rights and freedoms of the residents of Donbass.

The press service of the opposition bloc says that it is about to recommend the Ukrainian authorities to amend the law on the reintegration in accordance with the Minsk agreements.

Provided that Novinsky initiated the amendment, together with Yulia Liovochkina and made after it was approved by the relevant Committee of the PACE.

“In the final text of resolution (42 votes in favour, 16 against) were made the edit, requiring the leadership of Ukraine to revise the law on de-occupation of Donbass so that it was based on the Minsk agreements, provide full social protection and basic humanitarian needs of the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions”, – stated in the message of the Opposition bloc.

We will remind, earlier deputies from the Opposition bloc blocked the law on the reintegration of Donbass, registering a draft resolution of the Verkhovna Rada about the cancellation.

The law on the reintegration of Donbass was adopted on 18 January this year, 280 votes of people’s deputies.
