The Paris agreement at the UN: peace sign historic document

In the headquarters of the UN is a ceremony of signing of the Paris agreement to combat global climate change.

As can be seen in the online broadcast on the website of the UN, before starting the procedure, the UN Secretary-General ban Ki-moon announced the Paris agreement is “open for signature”.

First did the President of France Francois Hollande.

Behind Hollande rose to the podium representatives of 15 countries. Among them were a number of small island States, as well as Palestine and Somalia.

The Paris climate agreement was adopted on 12 December 2015, following the conference in Paris.

195 the participants of the forum agreed not to allow the increase in average temperature on the planet by the year 2100 more than 2 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels. The agreement will enter into force once ratified by 55 countries accounting for at least 55% of total global greenhouse gas emissions.

Recall that the Paris agreement will be signed and Ukraine. The government on 20 April approved the draft decree of the President concerning the credentials of the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Volodymyr Yelchenko to the signing of the Paris agreement.
