The UN special envoy for Yemen, Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed in a statement urged the parties “to exert all efforts to achieve a sustainable solution to the conflict for the sake of alleviating the suffering of the Yemenis”.

“Any delay, deviation or boycott will pull us back and slow down decision-making, which is expected to Yemenis,” said he.

Last Tuesday, the government delegation of Yemen has suspended participation in the talks after it accused the Houthi rebels continued in its unwillingness to implement UN security Council resolution on the withdrawal of their forces from the Yemeni capital Sana’a and other territories seized by them in 2014.
