“The Polish foreign Ministry has today sent a note to the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Malta (presiding country in the EU), which formally proposed the nomination of Jacek Saryusz-Wolski President of the European Council”, – said the Polish foreign Ministry.

Earlier on Saturday, the political Committee of the ruling Polish party “law and Justice” (PiS) ordered the head of the Polish government Beata Szydlo not to support the candidature of Donald Tusk to the post of President of the European Council.
