The presidency of the Council of Europe goes to Estonia

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Estonia Marina Kaljurand on Tuesday and Wednesday in Sofia to take part in the meeting of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. During the meeting held the chairmanship in the Council of Europe from Bulgaria to Estonia, according news.err.ee.

The meeting will be questions of security, European democracy, situation with human rights and the rule of law in Europe and other pressing problems that the continent faces.

In addition, it is noted that during a trip to Sofia Kaljurand will meet with the President, foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria, as well as Ministers of foreign Affairs of Serbia and Georgia.

We will remind, Estonia became a member of the Council of Europe in 1993.

The Council of Europe is an international organization of 47 member States in the European space. Membership is open to all European States which accept the principle of the rule of law and guaranteeing fundamental human rights and freedoms for its citizens.
