The cost of the futures on WTI for June at the electronic session on the new York Mercantile exchange (NYMEX) rose by $1,51 (2,36%) to $65,58 per barrel.

Thus, the spread between the current contracts for Brent and WTI is $8,13 in favor of Brent.

The American media reported today that the U.S. Department of state intends to announce the termination of the may 2, temporary exemptions from the sanctions for some countries that are importers of Iranian oil.

As you know, in the fall of 2018, the US imposed sanctions against Iran, but eight States gave permission to continue the purchase of Iranian oil for another six months until may 2, 2019, provided that they will gradually reduce its import. Among these countries include China, India, Italy, Turkey, Greece, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. It is known that three of the eight States (Greece, Italy, and Taiwan) has already reduced Iranian oil imports to zero.
