The General Prosecutor of Ukraine filed an appeal against the measure of restraint for the Chairman of the Kherson regional Council Vladislav Manger, who is suspected in the murder of activist Catherine Gandzyuk. On Tuesday, February 19, the press service of the GPU.

According to authorities, the complaint was filed on February 19, the Kyiv court of appeal.

Thus, the Prosecutor’s office believed too lenient the decision of the Shevchenko district court of Kyiv on February 15.

“The Prosecutor in criminal proceedings considers the decision illegal and unreasonable in determining the amount of bail and asked to cancel it, and apply a measure of restraint for the Chairman of the Kherson regional Council in the form of detention within the period of pre-trial investigation without determining the amount of bail”, – stated in the message.

Recall, February 11, the Chairman of the Kherson regional Council Vladislav Manger reported about suspicion in the murder of Catherine Gandzyuk. On 15 February the Shevchenkivsky district court of Kyiv has arrested a manger. According to Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, Mangere has organized and financed the murder of the activist.

February 15, Munger was released from jail on bail.
