The Prosecutor General’s office will not appeal the verdict of the Obolonsky district court in the case of high treason of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych. On Friday, 1 February, said the Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko in a television broadcast, reports UNN.

“He got 13 years for treason and complicity in the waging of aggressive war… does me term? It is possible to argue, of course, because we were asking 15 years. But I, as the attorney General, in consultation with the prosecutors in this production, has decided not to press the appeal, and focus on the next thing,” – said Lutsenko.

At the same time, it is known that Yanukovych’s lawyers will file an appeal against the verdict.

Recall, January 24, Obolonskyi district court of Kyiv has sentenced former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on charges of treason – 13 years of imprisonment.
