Azarov is suspected of illegal appropriation of liquefied gas worth UAH 2.2 billion

In the near future is planned the opening of the case materials to the defense, and his submission to the court.

In Ukraine, the court gave permission for a special pre-trial investigation against the former Prime Minister of the country Mykola Azarov. On Tuesday, September 4, said Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko in Facebook.

According to him, Azarov is suspected of illegal appropriation of liquefied gas worth UAH 2.2 billion.

Lutsenko added that in the near future is planned the opening of the case materials to the defense, and his submission to the court.

We will remind, in January, Lutsenko said that Azarov and former head of the national Bank Sergei Arbuzov was wanted in the investigation of the case against ex-President Viktor Yanukovych. Azarov is suspected of illegal misappropriation of large amounts of LNG, owned by OJSC Ukrgazdobycha PJSC Ukrnafta. Arbuzov is suspected of complicity in misappropriation of funds of the SJSC Chornomornaftogaz when buying jackup rigs.

It was also reported that the General Prosecutor’s office transferred the case of former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in court.
