Petro Poroshenko will ask the action Plan for Ukraine’s membership in NATO at the NATO summit in December.

President Petro Poroshenko plans at the NATO summit in December 2019 to put the issue of the action Plan on Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance. This is stated in the congratulation of the President on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the North Atlantic Alliance, issued by the press service of mission of Ukraine to NATO.

In particular, in a letter to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, the President stressed that Ukraine fully given to reform, in particular, in accordance with the policy of integration into NATO.

“Given the fact that Ukraine is on the forefront of protecting the Euro-Atlantic community, I believe that the allies can use the London NATO summit, which will take place this year, as an opportunity to begin substantive discussions on the renewal of our partnership, including through granting Ukraine a membership action plan (the action Plan on membership in NATO – ed.)”, – said Poroshenko.

Earlier, Stoltenberg announced that the meeting of heads of States and governments of the countries-allies of the Alliance will be held in London in December 2019.
