A new branch of the Soros Foundation in Berlin

The relocation of the Soros Foundation in Berlin due to the fact that the Hungarian government declared the Foundation a “foreign agent” and imposed serious restrictions on its activities.

The Fund of us billionaire George Soros, in connection with the oppression in Hungary, started to work in Berlin. This was announced by the Director of the new Berlin branch of the Soros Foundation Goran Buldioski in an interview with dpa on Thursday, October 4.

According to him, 80 employees of the Fund, together with their families moved to the capital of Germany from Budapest “We are pleased that our Berlin office will be one of the main bases of our funds, along with offices in London, new York and Washington,” he said.

George Soros, a native of Hungary who survived the Holocaust – through his Open Society Foundations supports projects in the field of civil rights around the world. He has long been under attack from the side-wing government of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

The Soros Foundation in Budapest was declared a “foreign agent”. In this regard, was the decision on transfer of the Budapest office of the Foundation in Berlin.

Previously, the Hungarian Parliament – the State Assembly has approved a package of bills entitled “Stop Soros”, which, in particular, criminalizes assistance to undocumented migrants in applying for asylum seeking and obtaining the status to stay in the country.
